GEOTEK - manufacturing specialised geological and oceanographic equipment
Founded in 1989, GEOTEK Ltd designs and manufactures specialised geological and oceanographic equipment.  The company has grown to become the world's leading supplier of equipment for the automated analysis of marine sediment cores.

Sales of the GEOTEK Multi-Sensor Core Logger
(http://www.geotek.co.uk/mscl.html) has now risen to over 50 systems, the main markets being Europe, the USA and Japan. Universities and marine survey companies use the instrument for a range of applications including studies of global climatic change and offshore site  investigation.

GEOTEK also plays a leading role in specifying and managing marine environmental surveys of the

seafloor. These are related to the expansion of the North Sea oil industry into deeper waters to the west of Shetland and GEOTEK's expertise is now being applied in more distant and challenging  marine environments such as the Strait of Hormuz, the Gulf of Guinea, the South China Sea, the Timor Sea and the Caspian Sea.

The company is actively involved in oceanography in advisory, tutorial and field director positions. This enables them to identify gaps in current technology and operational requirements resulting in imaginative solutions and products with unique capabilities.
